1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Some interesting players outside of Wemby. Wemby obviously going to be a god but the stip kind of flew under the radar. Edey feels like Boban 2.0 and kinda perfect Jesse got him. Scoot going to the NDL is high upside. I like the Risascher pick by the Rockets.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Loved my KP trade. Pairing him with my young core is going to be very fun. Trying to sign a goodish player with my ~$10m of cap space as well. Not much action though. Still have salary and 3 picks to move if anyone wants action.

3. Thoughts on TC?

Looking for a bug supercamp from Mobley, Kyrie to hold, KP to hold, Chet and LaMelo to also improve.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Pretty unchanged from last season. Bullets with improvements from Ant and Maxey along with a potential big move.
Central: Hornets. Best team in the division but haven't got to the top.
Midwest: Mavs. Bet on ourselves.
Pacific: Between the Suns and Warriors. Will give the Warriors the slight edge.

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.

TBD

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?

Grizzlies -- tank incoming trading away everyone as of now besides Brandon Ingram.
Kings -- Jesse doesn't own his pick so you know there is going to be a wave of trades made.

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.

Severance

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)

GRUNDLESAUCE MISS YOU! Need the sim league GOAT back paying attention.

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

Kind of want the Giants to get Rodgers and Adams. And draft other positions.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

Severance, Paradise, White Lotus... I like having tv to watch weekly now.

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Well Wemby is going to be really really good. I hope he's not game breaking. Think Dereck Lively is going to be very good. Excited to see who's the best of Podz / Cason / Jaime.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Feeling good about the offseason. Keeping the same squad together... still believe in this core to make a run. Want to make it to the second round of the playoffs this season at least.

3. Thoughts on TC?
TBD!

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks, fully updated big rotation and jalen green coming online too
Central: PACERS every year
Midwest: Gimme the Mavs!!
Pacific: Suns

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.
KAT to the Mavs for Chet or Mobley

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?
Think Kings are going to find a way to turn out a >.500 season, especially with Goga

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.
Instead of answering this can we just have Jordo answer this 29 times? I'm not 1% as creative

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)
Where was the Over/Under pod this year?!?! Always a fun pod. Other than that, would love to hear Bobby talk about his season, the ups and downs of Kyrie, and where he's taking the Clips

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Scoot scoot skrrrrrrrt. Weeee want the funk. Gradey Dick is going to be an electric scorer. Turned out to be more interesting players in the 30s than I expected when I first saw the file.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Idk, not sucking would be cool. Rough dice rolls took us from 1.5 games off the division lead to out of the playoffs in 2 sims

3. Thoughts on TC?
Would love to see Scoot have a great TC as a 19 year old A pot PG. Tari continuing to grow would be great.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks, bet they get healthy and Orlando finishes 1 GB as is tradition
Central: Hornets, underrated the last few years because of Bulls and Hawks dominance
Midwest: Mavs, Kyreeezy
Pacific: Suns

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.
Goga and Filler for Nurkic, the rest of MIL FRPs and Jaden McDaniels

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?
Grizzlies, tanking
Kings, they’ll be the main team coming out of the tank

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.
For Tong,
Heung Min Son, SG 6’0 190 A A+ B+ C C-

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)
I want Jesse and Ashes to do the next version of the lifting of the ratings curtain pod where ashes does how all the old players were built

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Europa

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Reacher season 3 seems interesting

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Ended up liking this draft class a lot more than I thought I would. I hope I don't screw up Wemby. Was stoked to get the two highest scouted B potential guys with the 18th and 19th picks (George and Walker) and also grab Sensabaugh in the 30s. Thought 2-8 was relatively flat, talked about this on the pod we did, but felt like most of the top guys in this class have a relatively low chance of absolute failure. Thought Steven crushed it with selling all those picks and farming tons of RP.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

For obvious reasons I'm stoked, have been second-guessing myself with how I opted to use Wemby's stip (maybe should have done three years and not two) but in the long run it should be fine. Because of the dead cap hits the next two seasons, the fact my team is incredibly young and that I have so many camps to dole out, I'm gonna have to be patient and just focus on trying to get the development right. My flexibility is a bit limited otherwise, so we'll see how much we can win organically with the crew we have.

3. Thoughts on TC?

Going to be huge for us because we're so young. Just hoping for improvement!

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks, would bet Nav will have better injury luck this time around
Central: Bulls, liked Matt's deal to grab Allen and Hield, think they can manage the loss of D. Rose
Midwest: Nugs assuming Rubio comes back, this division is still pretty thin sans Goga
Pacific: Warriors, better injury luck and they probably hang on last season

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.

Giannis to the Nets for Zion, Jabari Smith, a bunch of picks and some other prospects

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?

Raptors, YOLO I guess, we certainly won't be trying to lose out of the gate

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.

The Rizzler 5-0 200 B C C C A A

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)

Steven, come on the pod Steven

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

Ben Johnson I guess

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

Enjoying White Lotus S3 so far.

2022-23 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Briefly considered trading in around the late lotto, but then looked at the player pool and decided against it - I think the guys at the top of this draft (Wemby, Edey, Lively) are all gonna be really good, but think the rest of the guys have a lot more variability to them. It's been said a bunch but thought Yuki's notes were fascinating

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

We're already wheeling and dealing! We spent our furthest two futures to bring in Buddy Hield and Jarrett Allen. Hield should play the same role as Lamb, just on a cheaper contract, and I'm hopeful Jarrett Allen can be a mainstay in our frontcourt for a while - we needed to prepare for when Larry Sanders decides to hang up the shoes.

FA hasn't gone great...we were able to retain Otto, which was important for us, but having to match Luka on a 3 year deal is a bit annoying (although thankfully it's not a max?). Next step is trying to get Blake Griffin back.

3. Thoughts on TC?

It's all about JDub! He was great for a rookie in the minutes he played last season - the only blemish across his statline was high turnovers. He could use some outside help as well, although I'd bet that he'll get some of that development organically. If we have to start Buddy at the 2 this season, I think we'll be fine, but if he can take a big step forward and be a year or two ahead of schedule it'll be huge for us.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks - Tyus and Myles
Central: Bulls - we're getting some disrespect so far for a team that just won 67 games and sat our starters for the last 15
Midwest: Mavs - Nuggets probably the chalk choice, but arrow is pointed up for Hoff's squad and he still has ammo to go out and find another move or two
Pacific: Warriors - but only if Clint completely reshuffles his big rotation and plays Zubac behind everyone else

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.

Damian Lillard, Gradey Dick, and a couple shitty picks for Paul George. Make the Heat great again!

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?

We'll probably have the biggest negative delta because we (likely) overperformed last season. But more optimistically, I'd expect the Kings to wheel and deal their way into a playoff contender.

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.

Fred Haber: 63, 6'2", 215 C B B+ C+ A-

Strengths: Decent midrange game. Range has potential but needs some work. Good handling (of M&Ms)

Weaknesses: Absolutely allergic to the paint. Not great vision.

Stipulations: Will only ever wear the top half of his uniform, refuses to play in anything besides sweat pants

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)

Let's get Steven back on the air! Also like hearing from Jack and RB, would love to get them on a pod sometime this season. Both have super interesting situations on their teams!

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

Bears got Ben Johnson, so I have a solid 4-5 months to be excited. Actually have really liked all of his press conferences / interviews so far - hope he's the real deal.

Bulls ownership sucks and makes it hard to be a fan of the team - but they also take all the blame for Karnisovas who has objectively done a fucking horrific job as GM. Basically every move has backfired and despite getting some amazing late bloomer TC luck from Coby White we're stuck in no man's land for like the 10th consecutive season. Sad times.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

For the first time in a while am actually watching a bunch of episodic shows right now that I get to look forward to each week. In order of preference:

1. Severance (on track to be one of my favorite shows ever)
2. Invincible
3. White Lotus (think it's pretty overrated by the general public but still enjoy it)

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Traded a pretty penny to move up and grab Anthony Black, love him in real life and im hoping his offense can develop because if it does he could turn into one of the best 2way PGs in the league.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
I very pleased, I grabbed CoJo for a good price and have the PG position potentially squared away until Anthony Black develops

3. Thoughts on TC?
A lot of guys on the edge last season, hoping mitch goes back up to A- defense, and hoping for no regression from Cojo.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks, still lethal
Central: Bulls, like the offseason trade
Midwest: Nuggies, still a steal monster without goga
Pacific: Warriors, not enough warriors talk last season

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.
Hornets send a bag for goga

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?
Mavs, great trades

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.
Jack Reacher, C 6'5'' 250 A C- C+ A+ A A

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)
Heimer! threepeat!

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Aaron Rogers on the Giants, either plays with a chip on his shoulder and tears it up or gets this current regime fired and laughed out of town, either way it works for me.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Been rewatching curb.

Not a good draft post-lottery. I was surprised there weren't better players available at 14.

I think I've gotten some valuable pieces/picks and hope to do a 2 year tank

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
I like grady dick. I think Wemby will be a bust (JK). Podz will be good. Im happy with my second rounders of Kris murray and andre jackson jr. We are going back to our defense first routes in the NDL.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Incomplete atm, hoping to retain boogie and make some moves to firm around the edges. We still dont have our pick, so trying to compete, make the playoffs, and potentially some noise.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Hoping for some big jumps from the youngins (Franz, Ausar, Deni, and X Tillman). Hoping for the old guys to hold the line. Any additional growth from Strus or OG would be welcome.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Bullets - go wes!
Central: Cavs!! sike, but this seems like a more wide open race than the others. Im going to go bucks, they are young and didnt lose anyone (well maybe WCS)
Midwest: Nuggets - incumbent favorite, though those Mavs are gonna be tough!
Pacific: Warriors - go clint!

5. Trade market has kinda screeched to a halt after a lot of moves this season. Recommend a trade for two teams outside your division.
Wemby to the Cavs for some second rounders. Im joking! ummm...
Fred Van Vleet to the Kings for Ralph's 2024 pick (and maybe another pick cuz FVV is nasty), then Jordan Bell to the bullets for Ralphs 2025 pick (and likely more cuz Jordan Bell is sick)

6. What team will have the biggest wins delta from last year to this one (positive or negative)? Why?
Grizz down cuz they tanking

7. Excluding NBA players, if you were creating a player(s) for the 24 draft how would they look (list name, age, height, weight, ratings)? Can be anything from 2024 - a pop culture figure, a character from a movie released that year, a player drafted in a different sport, your dad, whoever.
Jabba the hut - 500 pounds, 6 ft flat, A+ inside, F+ handles, D- outside, C+ D, B- rebounding

8. What GM have you not heard from in a while that you want to hear on a pod? What topic/decision would you want to hear them discuss or question would you ask them? (extra credit: get them to join a pod this season)
DMO - Would want to hear his inspiration for food reviews

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Wiz are in prime position to capture the flagg need the balls to fall right (hold up?). Villanova going on a little run will be interested to see if they can make a claim to get in the tourny

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Been marvel rivaling with the boys. White lotus S3 so far so good. Secret Levels on Amazon prime is pretty fun for the video game nerds out there
FOR THE LAND - believe!
