Strengths: Williams has a decent mix of strength, quickness, and athleticism that he uses to a solid effect around the basket. He does a decent job at taking care of the ball and can guard several positions at an above-average rate. He is also an above-average rebounder if playing the 3.

Weaknesses: Shooting is a bit behind. Will take 3s. Isn't very stocky.

Scout's Take: Derrick Williams has a combination of size, length, and athleticism that teams tend to value (sometimes overvalue) a lot. It's tough to gauge if he's a play multiple positions kind-of-guy or a tweener that will struggle to find his place. He has a lot of areas to build on, but it will take a dedicated team to get him to that next level. Still, scouts are a big fan of this kid and he could surprise people.
