TL;DR - more free RPs for a quick post!

Every year, every GM's got his studs and it's duds, his craftiest moves and most embarrassing flops. For 100RPs, fill out the answers to the following questions and post it in the thread - think of these as your post-season Dundies, awarding each of the first 4 to players on your team, and then reflect on some of the key moments from your year. See my post below for an example.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Kobe Bryant. I mean, we had the second best lotto odds this year, so there wasn't a whole lot of winning going on at the GAHden, but Mamba looked real nice for an 18 year old, shooting respectable percentages with TOs far lower than some of his star rookie peers.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jeff Muthafuggin McInnis. Second Team All Defense as a rookie, with 3 stocks a game...but plot twist, 1.6 of those are blocks! The PG with PF ratings under the hood was the heart, soul, backbone and main attraction of our team this year, even with 2nd overall pick Bryant suiting up. In addition to elite defense, McInnis averaged 20 a game to go along with 5 boards and 6 assists...AND his ratings are so weird that he's still eligible for the NDL! What can't he do??

MOST IMPROVED: N/A, as this is our inaugural season - but I'll go ahead and give this one to Juwan Howard, as his offensive efficiency is that of someone well beyond his years.

SIXTH MAN: Malik Rose. This guy came out of nowhere, autodrafted in the 10th round with dogshit ratings, and put a very respectable 9 and 9 in a backup 4/5 role. I wasn't planning on camping him, but he's awfully tasty as a prospect - will he be an NDL superstar?

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Gheorge Muresan! This hulking ogre might be ugly on the outside, but his game is beautiful. My very last draft selection and a total shot in the dark, Muresan was a force, doing 12 and 9 on solid percentages and an almost 2:1 stock to TO ratio. And he's still young and campable!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Looking at my camps pricetag - hefty. It's cool being a young promising team, but with all these young guys I want to juice, I'm going to have to be pretty selective with my RPs and my Reward Camp attributes.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: I'll say moving Nick Anderson to San Antonio for their 98 first. Anderson is fine, but I feel like I got a pretty good asset back there - if the Spurs don't turn it around a bit, I might have a shot at another lotto.

REGRETS: Normally guys just write "none!" if they had a great season, which I thought was as successful as it could have been in Boston. However, I would be lying if I don't check KG's stats every day and think...was Kobe the right choice at #2????

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Steve Nash. Man is he going to light this league on fire! I'm predicting not one, not two.. MVP campaigns in his future!

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jerome Kersey. Though we traded him at the deadline, Jerome formed the heart and soul of an absolutely abysmal unit. He was the only dog amongst a litter of puppies.

MOST IMPROVED: Shareef Abdur-Rahim. I'm happy our coach (wonder who that fivehead uber mensch could possibly be?) stuck with him. At one point Shareef was shooting 35% from the field. By the end of the season, Shareef was STRAIGHT COOKING. Over 40% from the field. Games of 30+! Going TOE TO TOE WITH THE BIG DAWGS! You'd have thought he opened a restaurant and was short staffed the way he jumped into that chef's hat, boy!

SIXTH MAN: JOE MOTHERFUCKING SMITH! What an absolute UNIT! 18 and 9 as a rookie on decent splits! DAAAAAMN!

BIGGEST SURPRISE: ALSO JOE MOTHERFUCKING SMITH! The guy could be a star. On B potential too. WILD!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Bob Sura so far is an absolute beta.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: This is a tough one. I got two first rounders and a rotational piece from the Lakers for auto-drafted "Prince" Rex Chapman, who I definitely thought was a good stats-bad team player (including in real life, which was a shame; think addiction def played a part and man has he turned it around). I also got two firsts and rotational players from the Hornets for Jerome "Monster Dong" Kersey and Tyrone "I'm on this team??!?!" Hill. Going to go with the latter deal I think..

REGRETS: Not experimenting more with tactics, I think.. but I was also trying to tank, so hard to tell...

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Hakeem Olajuwon -- He was the MVP of the league, so surely he was the MVP of my team! He's the best player in the league and is a near-perfect star. Despite playing in an outside offense, he averaged 25/12 on efficient scoring. He is extremely durable and plays huge minutes at the PF/C spot. He's the best defensive player in the league. If he rebounded a bit better, he'd be perfect.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Hakeem Olajuwon -- He is easily the best defensive player in the league. 5 stocks! Are you kidding me!?

MOST IMPROVED: Mario Elie -- He was complete trash during the beginning of the season but gradually his production normalized.

SIXTH MAN: Charles Barkley -- I mean, like Hakeem, he won the league-wide award! Total star. Cheat code as a backup 3/4/5. First time i've ever seen an All-League award go to someone who was not starting. He'd be a 22/14 guy starting.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: N/A - season went chalk.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Not finding an "all-in" trade at the deadline. We didn't leverage close to as many future picks as the other contenders, which was by design. But I would have liked to have found one more move for 1-2 picks to give us a better chance against the Suns in the playoffs.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Dennis Scott -- If not for Charles, he probably would have won 6th man of the year.

REGRETS: Failing at the trade deadline!

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: This was a tough call between Karl Malone and Kevin Johnson, and honestly I was shocked that Malone got the All-NBA First Team nod and KJ was Second Team. Ultimately I have to go with KJ; he was the more consistent of the two, and I think performance went under-the-radar because he's definitely not as sexy a name as some others (think he was probably underrated in real life as well). Only guy in the league to be in the top 10 of scoring/assists, just about top 10 in TS% in the overall league, and got buckets at a high volume with good efficiency. The turnovers were definitely an issue, and he probably didn't have quite enough juice to push the team over the top vs. some of the stud wing scorers in the league, but I'll take two First/Second team guys from picking around #25 in the creation draft.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: I'll go with big Rony Seikaly who I acquired at midseason to shore up the backline where unsurprisingly Malone was not stout enough to carry the defense by himself (he was probably too busy flirting with the wives of other guys on my team). He gobbled up 11 boards and 2.3 stocks/game was a significant upgrade over Elden Campbell/Stacy King two-headed monster I was rolling out earlier. Lakers were pretty mid defensively in the first half but ended up at #10 in defensive rating which I attribute to Rony's added presence.

MOST IMPROVED: Given the ancient roster composition there was not a whole lot of organic improvement that I saw tbh. I might actually go with KJ here, he leveled up in the second half and was the only guy who came to play in a tough first-round matchup against the Kings. My money for MIP next year is Dontonio "McDichael" Wingfield (hopefully someone gets that reference), if we can get his outside shooting up he's got a real chance to be a credible 3 & D player. Yes it's a sad state of my young guys that he's the only real "prospect" that I have...SLN simulates the real life 2021-2022 Lakers.

SIXTH MAN: I'll go with Elden Campbell, once I got Seikaly he performed admirably in first big off the bench role, staying out of the way on offense and providing adequate rebounding/defense, although 39% FG is pretty heinous. Let's see if TC this year can give him any kind of boost.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: This is an easy call, Derrick Mckey came out of nowhere to be my best wing option off the bench once I acquired Chapman (and starter before that), supplanting Majerle and Wingfield. His stats won't wow you, but we was extremely efficient and knew his role, and his stats once he got more PT look better than his overall stat line. Too bad he's on the wrong side of 30 and will probably fall off a cliff based on his real career.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: This is (unfortunately) an easy call; Thunder Dan Majerle was maybe the worst draft pick of the 6th round and it pains me to see his $6.5M contract when I look at my cap structure. Was really banking on him providing 3rd scorer juice while Hersey filled more of the Swiss Army Knife role, but that was probably wishful thinking. Not only was Majerle horrendously inefficient but he was a total gunner, would do crazy shit like going 2-12 in 15 minutes. Eventually I had to completely bench him in the playoffs in favor of two auto-drafted guys which is a pretty damning indictment.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: I already gave Seikaly his love for Defensive Player of the year, so I'll go with sexy Rexy Chapman. Yeah I probably overpaid for him and Seikaly, but team record turned around from an 18-23 first half to 24-19 in the second half, and he provided a badly needed second option to take the load off of KJ at the guard position, and allowed Hersey to slot into his more natural fourth/fifth option role. His defense and efficiency left some to be desired but can't have it all.

REGRETS: I stand by the above about Chapman/Seikaly being worth it, but I probably wish I had hung on to one extra FRP, or maybe held out one more season to see if another guy became available. Ultimately we were pretty stuck in the middle, with an old core and a brutal Pacific Division with the Kings & Suns, but honestly tanking seemed like too much effort lol so figured I'd try to contend for as long as Malone stays effective and bottom out sometime in 2000 when I get control over my FRPs again. We'll see if that's the right call (probably not). Ultimately I got two all league guys with my top two picks so biggest regret is pwhiffing on Hawkins/Majerle, there was potential there to build a real contender.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Michael Finley. The cornerstone of the franchise.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Rick Fox. A truly elite 3-and-D role player, come trade for him

MOST IMPROVED: Chris Childs. Had no idea he was good.

SIXTH MAN: Dale Davis. He is reliable!

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Chris Childs being kind of good

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Being auto-drafted a horrible bench

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: N/A.

REGRETS: NO REGRETS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Kendall Gill. Tough call between him and Jamal Mashburn, but i think the better percentages plus 1.6 more stocks per game give him the nod despite the additional turnovers. Gill was also the only member of the team to earn any regular season award, earning second team all defense.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Kendall Gill. Not much of a surprise here considering he made second team all defense. Gills 2.9 stocks per game trailed only Kevin Garnett and Scottie Pippen for most among wings (I think).

MOST IMPROVED: Latrell Sprewell. I guess he gets the nod for reducing his TOs from 3.9pg early in the season down to 3.2 by the end. Ignore the fact that he started coming off the bench and playing less minutes. The Rockets limped there way into the playoffs only to get smashed by the 7 seed so I dont like this category.

SIXTH MAN: Latrell Sprewell. Dont know the exact number of games he came of the bench for but i think it was more than half so im gonna count it. Looks like a winning player if you cut his TOs in half, plus he didnt choke anyone out this season. Cmon reward camps do your thing.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Kendall Gill. Definitely the bright spot in an underwhelming season for Houston. This guy had no right falling to late in the third round of the draft, and was a stud despite the excess of wings vying for the ball.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Going out early. After trading away my future I was hoping to at least crest the 50 win total for the season, fail. I was also hoping to win a playoff series as the 2 seed in the west, fail. I was really hoping to at least win a single playoff game, fail. I was hoping Vlade could get his fg% above 38% or at least stop shooting so fucking much, FAIL.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: All my trades sucked. I traded 4 FRPs and didnt improve my win percentage, thats tough to do.

REGRETS: Making trades, especially for vlade.

MOST IMPROVED:Walker - i guess idk we were bad.

SIXTH MAN:Sasha - i literally cant name another guy who came off the bench

BIGGEST SURPRISE:Samaki Walker - cuz he wasnt as horrible as i expected idk.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:Erick Strickland - weak ankles

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:Picks!

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Michael Jordan. He's not bad. First Team All-SLOR, First Team All-Defense, and would've had a shot at MVP if he hadn't missed so much time in the regular season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Michael Jordan. Thought about going with STOCKO (the hipsters' choice), but I gotta go chalk here. MJ is the defensive menace who drove our league-best o3P% and top-3 defensive rating.

MOST IMPROVED: Greg Anthony. As our backup PG, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for the first 60 days of the season but was pretty lights-out the rest of the way. In particular, his elite defense came in handy come playoff time.

SIXTH MAN: STOCKO. Kinda cheating because he became our starting C a little over halfway through the season, but he totally changed our defense once we gave him more run. Complemented Rodman (may his soul rest in peace) very well.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Steve Kerr. When I took him in the 4th round, I pegged him as little more than a game manager PG. Today in NYC, Kerr's more popular than Jesus.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Dale Ellis and Tom Chambers retiring. Boo!

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Grain God for 5 Firsts, Chris Mullin, and all the RP. Rice completely transformed our offense as an elite efficiency+volume monster and had some massive playoff performances, including the clinching Game 5 of the Finals.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Clyde Drexler... He was phenomenal. Some of his box scores were eye popping. He was the glue of this team, primary scoring option all season 2nd team all pro. His injury in the finals was a killer. Look for him on the revenge tour.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Dikembe Mutombo was the SLN Defensive player of the year. He is a rim protecting monster and an absolute force down low. Big reason we beat the Kings in the Conference Finals was because of his defense on Hakeem.

MOST IMPROVED: Joe Dumars. I really liked his ratings and thought he would be better. He was horribly inefficient at the start of the year but then he turned it on strong. When I was reviewing my season, I was surprised he ended up shooting the ball at the clip he did. I might try to use him a bit more creatively this season,

SIXTH MAN: Monty Williams. I overpaid for Monty but he's honestly been what I've hoped he would. He is a solid low volume defensive wing that doesn't shoot at the volume or inefficiency to kill my handles and he can back up 4 positions. He is also the current coach of the Suns.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Mookie Blaylock is low key awesome and I'd honestly rate him higher than Gary Payton. He gets the most steals in the league, and shoots at a low enough volume not to take shots away from Clyde and Pat. He's first team all defense and is good enough offensively to exploit a bad matchup. I did not expect that. Googs was also a good surprise but I feel pretty good about him when I called his name on draft day.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:

Clyde getting injured in the Finals was my biggest disappointment. Can't afford not to have him against the best wings in the league and it showed. With that being said, I think I could've put out a better DC when he was out. See biggest regret.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Acquiring Patrick Ewing was barely better than the addition of Monty Williams to the locker room.

REGRETS: I wish I could have the second part DC of the finals back. I would have tried something pretty wild and who knows, it might have worked. Played it a little too safe I think.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: AI

This is closer than I thought it would be, between him and Lenard...but gotta give it to AI. The man can fill it up!

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

This one goes to Cherokee Parks, who had a 2.5:0.8 stock-to-TO ratio and averaged a full steal in only 28 mpg. He was the best auto-drafted guy I could have hoped for!

MOST IMPROVED:

Not sure this really applies in the first season, but I guess AI?

SIXTH MAN:

Our bench was a pretty big disappointment, but I guess by default it goes to Cherokee Parks, who spent most of the season coming off the bench.

BIGGEST SURPRISE:

Being as good on Defense as we were. Our lineup was very young and pretty small (especially in the backcourt) - so I was pretty shocked to see how well we played defensively. Definitely wasn't part of the plan, and think making the playoffs was a bit ahead of schedule, but honestly I think I would have taken Cato with a late lotto pick anyway so I don't feel too bad about it. Bodes well for the future I hope!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:

I guess not putting up more of a fight in R1? But didn't really expect to compete with the Hornets.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:

Well, it definitely wasn't gifting Stojko to the Knicks for peanuts. I guess the Kings trade? Not sure Dennis Scott is worth much, the guys left in the 2nd round by the time my pick came around were pretty bad, and I like swinging on Bobby Jackson with the Kings pick.

REGRETS:

Not being more active and swinging more deals, and gifting Stojko to the Knicks for peanuts.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Sheed. All-Star and Defensive 2nd Team in his sophomore season certainly gives me hope.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Kidd. 2.4 steals as a 23 year old with A potential is excellent to see.

MOST IMPROVED: N/A

SIXTH MAN: Brian Grant. As a young third big he showed promise. Hoping he can develop into a nice piece.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Rodney Rogers shooting 47% as a starter.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Missing out on some of the top guys from this draft.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Only made one, shipping some solid role players for a pick and RPs.

REGRETS: Not many. Excited for the future of SLN. I also like my young guys, I think we’ll be causing contenders trouble in the playoffs in a couple seasons.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Grant Hill. Second team all star in age 24 season. He should be dominant with an improved jump shot and handles (barring an injury)

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Hot Rod Williams looked great defensively while he was on the Grizzlies. Can't imagine we win a game against the Suns without him early in the season.

MOST IMPROVED: Hard to say for the first season. I guess Clarence Weatherspoon is much more productive than you'd expect from his public stats. He's 12/8 and 1 turnover with 24 mpg (.420 FG%)

SIXTH MAN: Going into next season, happy to have Charlie Ward as my backup PG (he was my third overall pick in the starting draft after all)

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Kemp is a monster. Before hoiberg went down with a broken skull, he was leading the team towards playoff contention. 22/9 as the second star on a slow offense feels pretty good.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Grant Hill's turnovers at the beginning of the season were horrible. He improved over the course of the season and the camps should be helpful.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: None of my trades were franchise changing. I thought I got good value for Antoine Carr in my trade with the Knicks (two 2nd rounders).

REGRETS: Drafting Hot Rod Williams in the fourth round. I thought I would get more assets for him near the trade deadline
Welcome to Atlanta where the playas play

Big beats, hit streets, see gangstahs roamin'
