MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Anthony Davis
Played all 82 games for us and was a monster in the middle. Led the league in rebounds, top 10 in blocks, all around stock machine. He carried us a majority of the season

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Anthony Davis
He was DPOY and rightly earned it. Honorable mention Justise Winslow for racking up a tidy 3.3 stocks per game.

MOST IMPROVED: Ant and Maxey
Would be solo Ant but he missed a majority of the season so giving both the young bucks the nod here. Ant went from slashing 45/38/84 to 48/42/88 and scoring from 13 to 23ppg. Also adding 3.4 stocks he’s shaping up to be a 2-way game wrecker. Maxey had similar jumps going from 47/92/42 to 49/49/94 and scoring from 12 to 21! Already insanely efficient as a 22 year old.

SIXTH MAN: Glen Rice
6th man/fill in starter for over half the year. Glen was able to slot in and start at the 2 most of the year after Ant went down. Shot well with minimal turnovers and was a plus rebounder at the 2.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Austin Reaves
Austin earning in MVP in the NDL. Typically goes to someone with a shitload of assists or a scoring stock monster. But Reaves won it by shooting lights out! He put in 35ppg on 48/42/85 shooting. Super excited to call him up to SLN with all the bonus’ he’ll get this offseason

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Naz Reid
He kinda sucked in the playoffs. He has the mold to be solid but somethings not clicking, maybe a little to weak to play C? Hoping he resigns on a friendly deal and TCs well. Ant missing 58 regular season games was a bummer too.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Jeremy Lin
Traded for Lin on day 99 and got days 101-120 of Linsanity. Helped us go 12-3 in that stretch to vault to the top of the Atlantic division and finish as the #2 seed. All 3 of our losses during that month were to the Hornets. Figured our only chance to beat the Hornets was with Linsanity and got lucky it hit while starting him.

REGRETS: Nada

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: I dont think there was one player that stood out probably mitchell robinson but I think Duncan Robinson earned the starting job for this season, he was a 25 point a game guy after moving to the starting 2 on great efficiency.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Mitchell Robinson, 3.5:1 stocks with 10 rebs in less than 30 minutes.

MOST IMPROVED: Probably Duncan Robinson

SIXTH MAN: Mikal Bridges, overpriced now but was a nice fit at the super sub.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: How good dejounte murray's 'good games' were.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: John Collins development.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: I guess Jabari, probably not a move i needed to make.

REGRETS: None

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:

Shabazz Muhammad. 25ppg on even steals and turnovers, 7.3 boards per game, and filled in at SF most of the season after Lauri's blown Achilles. We would have been in big trouble without him.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

Montrezl Harrel. Led all PFs in blocks, finished second or third in block %. Got up to 4 stocks per turnover last season.

MOST IMPROVED:

Jerian Grant. Had his best season to date for us, shooting a career best from the field and from 3, on even stocks and turnovers. This was also in a slower more deliberate offense that saw him net a career high in assists as well.

SIXTH MAN:

Jordan Poole! A quiet 12 ppg on plus shooting split, on his best career turnover rate.

BIGGEST SURPRISE:

RJ Barrett's turnovers. I played him last year as a backup 1-2 where his turnovers were annoying but manageable. They tended to pop in games where no surprise, he spent more time at PG than SG. I thought, fine, move him to starting 2, and it should be fine. It was not fine. They were bad enough that I moved him to third string by the end of the season. He was doing 3+ just being asked to shoot. I'm afraid he might be destined for the backup 1-2 role.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:

Lauri's injury. Basically forced us into a slower more defensive DC for the season when I was looking forward to experimenting with Lauri at PF to play 4 good offensive players at once. Would have been nice to figure out what worked in that regard before the playoffs as well.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:

Trading Monta and a couple of picks for Shabazz and Jordan Poole. It remains to be seen whether Poole is more than just a backup 1-2, but I'm happy to have him on his deal, meanwhile Shabazz is fringe all star at either wing spot.

REGRETS:

Probably should have traded Barrett and / or Poole before the season. Was nice to have the extra wings though when Lauri went down.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Markelle Fultz. Ended up at 25ppg 7 boards, 7 steals and about 2 stocks. Weird year for him playing over half the season at 2. Definitely was expecting his volume to drop but his fg% and 3p% dipped by like 5% which really isn't sweet!

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Donovan Mitchell. Not much defense last year but he had the most stocks at 2 which is not a good recipe for success!

MOST IMPROVED: Nobody in SLN actually so I'm gonna say SANDRO up in Ontario. Improved +10ppg with fg%, 3p%, and FT% all improving. Hoping he can be fun up in SLN this season.

SIXTH MAN: Monta Ellis. Only on the team for a couple sims but he was a bucket off the bench.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Being so bad. Positive differential and being 8 games under 500 felt wrong.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: See above. I guess I thought the Fultz Kyrie backcourt would be unstoppable. I was definitely disappointed to see Kyrie apparently be a completely different player when he got to Dallas.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Donovan Mitchell. Definitely lost this trade but he's pretty young, still B potential and the ratings are just so sexy. Would like to see his 3 point shooting pick up and turnovers come down a bit as he ages.

REGRETS: Wish I would've made some moves to improve depth and add a big man sooner. Kinda wish I had Kyrie lol. Bro picked Josh Hart over Kyrie???

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Harden. Still a lord at 33

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Looney - one of the last of his breed

MOST IMPROVED: Ja - looked pretty solid in the minutes he played despite a bad TC

SIXTH MAN: Bledsoe. One of the best true shooters ever

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Prince's resigning number - probably means hes about to die in TC

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Sucking mega ass all year

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Eddy Curry - still useful in his 40s!

REGRETS: None really - just need to choose a direction now

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Myles Turner. He's a total cheat code and one of the best players in SLN. 35ppg on 49/44/94 splits, along with 8 boards and 4 stocks per game

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Turner. 4 stocks per game at SF is broken

MOST IMPROVED: Turner, again. He went up to A Outside in TC, which helped his TS% now that he's taking more 3s. His stocks also jumped from 3.3 to 4.0 which was awesome

SIXTH MAN: Jalen Green. He was better than expected in year 2, and I'm hoping he can become a superstar SG in the Ray Allen mold sooner than later

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Almost winning the division despite our rotten injury luck. Think we would've still won the Atlantic if Nolan saw my offer for Lin before he accepted Wes's (lower) bid

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Having our best players miss 80+ games combined due to injuries. Tough break

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Embiid for Green + picks. Used some of those picks for Kessler, and hoping Green + Kessler (along with Turner, Jones, and Okogie) can help us contend for the next decade or so

REGRETS: Not spending more on our training staff

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: LeBron is the MVP of my team every year.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Delon Wright led the team with almost 2 steals/game.

MOST IMPROVED: Wenyen Gabriel. Really showed to be a solid role player who can grab boards and get some stocks when given some playing time.

SIXTH MAN: Yaroslav. Was able to plug him in anywhere to help get the job done.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Wasn't surprising to me but glad everyone can see that you don't have to trade LeBron in order to "tank".

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Finishing third worst and getting the 5th pick in the draft.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Hassan Whiteside helped the tank at the end of the year but my b on...

REGRETS: Failing to re-sign Whiteside on coring while waiting to sign someone else on Day 1.

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Bonga is just a beast. Such a good player and hope we can find a way to add for him this year and everyone takes a step.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: don'tcha want ta Bonga Bonga - 4.4 stockeroonies

MOST IMPROVED: Sengun! Scrapes by Wiseman (and Hayes was nice too). His jumps across the board are the key to the future in Miami.

SIXTH MAN: Dame? Hayes? Depends what part of the year it was. Dame going 50.5 / 94.6 / 52.1 is just a SHAME we haven't been able to win with him

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Wiseman! Take those jumps for sure especially without being an option most of the year

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Probably Klay? I guess not being able to trade Klay enough to really play for Wemby? But the lotto is so flawed.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Signing Bonga (sorry Ty). Just really needed another piece

REGRETS: I'd almost say not moving Dame but tbh the value was so bad. I guess it would've been nice in FA but needed to hit two birds guys with big deals to make a move so not sure it would've mattered that much. Really the main regret is being unable to land a whale despite quite a few efforts.
