Strengths: Very strong and athletic. Decent range, but still not very consistent. Strong defender and rebounder. Should get good stocks. Good quickness.
Weaknesses: His time in college hasn't helped his decision-making. Takes more 3s than you'd like. Probably can't defend the wings very well.
Scout's Take: Young had an impressive college campaign that greatly raised his draft stock. Western Kentucky had several deep runs in the tournament and much of that can be attributed to Young's fierce defensive and rebounding presence. He took some strides in correcting some of his offensive deficiencies and has come out a pretty well-rounded player. Scouts feel he has matured and should be a good player at the next level.
