Team Awards '23-'24
TEAM AWARDS - Cavs
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Steph Curry - that boy is still a top10 PG in the eyes of advanced analytics
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Siakam somehow, we didn’t play much defense
MOST IMPROVED: Ausar Thompson - gave the guy some burn this year and though he needs to learn how to shoot the ball and to not turn it over, he had some very cool stat lines
SIXTH MAN: we didn’t have a true sixth man due to the amount of roster shuffling. I’ll give it to X Tillman
BIGGEST SURPRISE: how poopy we were. I was hoping we’d be a little more competitive and just have up midseason
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: probably Siakam not panning out. Was hoping in a different scenario with some alpha scorers he’d take a back seat from shooting and turning the ball over.. he started hot but went back to his old ways
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: probably getting a FRP for OG, we didn’t make too many trades
REGRETS: not asking for RP or a protected pick in the Siakam trade, I really talked myself into it lol

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Suggs. Lookin like he’s gonna be the guy.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: LeBron. Averaged 2 stocks/game. Hoping he can contribute more defensively starting at the 4 this year.
MOST IMPROVED: Stanley Johnson. Turns out to be a real 3 and D guy.
SIXTH MAN: Sirdyvis. Was able to plug in at the 1- positions and contribute positively.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Kyle Kuzma is actually not bad.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Wenyen didn't "Beast Out" with more minutes at the 4.
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Maybe drafting Bronny?
REGRETS: Maybe drafting Bronny? LOL

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:
Bazley. Rebounding and stock monster
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Also Bazley. Rebound and stock monster!
MOST IMPROVED:
Cade? TOVs still an issue but he’s pretty sick as a PG. hoping his handles keep improving
SIXTH MAN:
Jennings. Nice combo guard off the bench. He’s been a great Piston for a long time now
BIGGEST SURPRISE:
That we didn’t win more games. We don’t have a real starting center and we need a third scorer. But still I thought we’d land closer to .500
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
Haliburton not offering to resign. It would have been huge to be able to manage him and Cade but I had to use my RFA tag so I’ll be in a tough spot with Cade and Bazley in contract years
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:
Really didn’t do a lot of trading this year
REGRETS:
I think I was the runner up in the Goga trade. I should have probably just paid up to get him and have him be the long term starter with Bazley but I chickened out

TEAM AWARDS
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Fultz. Nice bounce back in his FG%. 29ppg, 10 assists, 6 rebounds on 50%
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: We did not do stocks here, but I guess Spida with about 2.3 stocks is the best I got
MOST IMPROVED: I guess Fultz? Shot the ball much more efficiently.
SIXTH MAN: I didn't really have a steady 6th man because I tried 100 DCs but once I was able to put Hart in a super sub role he was doing very well. Felt like he was snagging 10+ boards every game.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Nothing sticks out. I guess I was pleasantly surprised with going the distance in round one against the 2 seeded Mavs.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Losing in round one after being up 3-2 was sad
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: I thought Hayward was a nice addition and we were able to string together a good stretch to us into the playoffs. Shame I didn't have the space to keep him
REGRETS: None
