Strengths: Decent finishing around the rim. Good jump shot with good range. Should get a block and steal a game. Serviceable post defender. Good rebounder. Decent strength and quickness.
Weaknesses: Handles need work.
Scout's Take: Shalen has good two-way potential. Standard stretch big when it comes to offense, but he should provide a mix of defense and rebounding that teams love. Scouts worry about his decision-making, but if he can reign that in, he has a solid shot at becoming a very productive starter at the next level.
